Rear-loading compactors (10 to 24 m³) are designed for high-volume main collection routes with continuous compaction. Satellite units (5 to 8 m³, such as the Satélite series) are built for narrow street access and historic downtown areas, handling initial collection before transferring to mothership trucks. Final selection depends on roadway width and distance to the final disposal facility.
